Southern Christian Sportsmen’s Devotional:
Thank you so much for your “service in action” during the dream fish trip. Tyler was diagnosed October
of 27, 2008 with Ewing’s Sarcoma in his left leg and lungs. Since that time, he has spent about 150 days
in the hospital, a year of chemotherapy, six weeks of radiation and 7 major surgeries. He now has a new
hip, new knee, and new titanium rod in his left leg. We have had quite a time as a family these past two
years and truthfully we are all just tired. We also know that we are still on this  very long journey. Tyler is
working extremely hard to gain mobility of his leg and to deal with the after effects of the chemotherapy
and radiation.  The dream fish trip was an amazing weekend where Tyler truly had more fun than he
probably has had in two years. It was a great reminder of all of the things he can still do even with limited
mobility. I am so thankful for your hospitality and being able to spend time in a peaceful Christian
atmosphere where men of God took their time and talent to make this weekend so special.  As a family,
it was truly a retreat for all of us! Thank you again for this very special weekend, for glorifying Christ and
being doers of the word!

Tyler talking to Jimmy Houston!
Dear EVERYONE:
Thanks for everything. The weekend was super AWESOME.  I appreciate you guys
so much. Thanks Claude for showing me around, letting me ride the four-wheelers,
and making sure I had the opportunity to catch a big fish. Thanks Travis for being so
patient while  giving me professional tips for fishing and thanks to Jimmy for his
fishing tips! Thanks to Johnny for his tips on holding the gun so I could hit a target
(even though I still missed some…or quite a few). Thanks to Tony for the delicious
cooking…and to Cecil for showing me those JEEPS! Finally, a big thanks to
EVERYONE that is part of the Southern Christian Sportsmen’s Devotional that
helped gather all of the fishing gear and that made the weekend so AWESOME! May
God bless you all!

Your organization allow my whole family to really relax and enjoy the weekend in a Christian
atmosphere. The fact that your group is Christian faith based is really refreshing. It seems
that our society is pushing against Christianity so much that faith based groups are not
allowed to be represented in hospitals in order to help families who are affected by childhood
illness. We found out about your group through the lasting impact you made on  a family
whose daughter is fighting cancer.. We intend to promote your organization as much as
possible and pray for you continued success with your organization.
Thank you again for such an enjoyable weekend,

David Hannan
